    Wombaroo Nectar Diet

    Recipe

    Main Ingredients:

    • Glider Nectar (60% of diet):
    • 12mL (3.5g powder plus 10mL Water)
    • Fruit & Vegetables Mix (30% of diet):
    • 8g diced Fruit & Veg with 0.8g Wombaroo High Protein Supplement dispersed over it.
    • Small Carnivore Food (5% of diet):
    • 1g of prepared Wombaroo Small Carnivore Food made up as a moist crumble.
    • Insects (5% of diet):
    • 1g mealworms, crickets, moths or other invertebrates.

    Fruits & Vegetables Breakdown:

    • Vegetables (50%): Frozen peas, corn, carrot, beans (defrosted), cucumber, capsicum (bell pepper), sweet potato.
    • Leafy Greens (25%): Bok choy, dandelion greens.
    • Fruits (25%): Apple, pear, berries, stone fruit, rockmelon (cantaloupe), paw paw (papaya), figs.

    Feeding

    Daily Proportions:

    Based on the maintenance energy requirements of a 100g adult sugar glider with moderate activity levels. Adjust food intake based on body weight and activity level.

    For pregnant or lactating females, increase food quantities by about 30%.

    For Squirrel Gliders (body weight approx. 300g), feed around twice the daily quantity suggested.

    Nutritional Analysis (Dry Basis):

    • Protein: 20%
    • Fat: 8%
    • Calcium-to-Phosphorus Ratio: 1.3%
    • Iron: 60 mg/kg
    • Metabolizable Energy: 16.7MJ/kg (4000 kcal/kg)

    Preparation

    Glider Nectar:

    1. Mix 3.5g Wombaroo Glider Nectar powder with 10mL water.

    Fruit & Veg Mix:

    1. Dice a variety of fruits and vegetables into small pieces.
    2. Disperse 0.8g Wombaroo High Protein Supplement over the mix.

    Small Carnivore Food:

    1. Prepare 1g of Wombaroo Small Carnivore Food as a moist crumble.

    Breeding & Growth:

    For breeding, growing, malnourished, or underweight gliders, mix 75% Glider Nectar powder with 25% High Protein Supplement and make up nectar according to usual directions.

    Notes

    Fruits and vegetables serve as a primary carbohydrate (energy) source in captivity. Vegetables should make up a higher proportion of the diet due to their higher nutrient content compared to fruits.
