    Recipe

    • 2 cups fresh or frozen fruit (2-4 different types, not canned)
    • 2 cups fresh or frozen vegetables (2-4 different types, not canned)
    • 6-8 ounces plain, whole milk yogurt (no artificial sweeteners)
    • 6 tablespoons frozen orange juice concentrate
    • 6-8 tablespoons uncooked oatmeal (regular five-minute oats)
    • 32 ounces unsweetened applesauce
    • 6-8 ounces protein (cooked chicken, ground turkey, or eggs)
    • 1-2 tablespoons ground flaxseed or wheat germ (optional)

    Feeding

    Add Vitamins:

    • Sprinkle a multi-vitamin with calcium on top of the food daily.
    • Use 1/8 teaspoon of vitamins per sugar glider.

    Preparation

    1. Chop Fruits and Vegetables: Finely chop the fruits and vegetables using a food processor if available.
    1. Cook the Protein: Thoroughly cook your chosen protein (chicken, turkey, or eggs).
    1. Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine all ingredients except the oatmeal. Stir vigorously until well incorporated.
    1. Adjust Consistency: Gradually add oatmeal to the mixture until it reaches a consistency similar to cake batter.
    1. Portion and Freeze:
    • Option A: Use ice cube trays, measuring 1.5–2 tablespoons of the mixture per slot. Once frozen, transfer cubes to a freezer bag.
    • Option B: Divide the mixture into 10 smaller containers. Each container should last 2 gliders for 3 days.

    Notes

    • Vitamins are shelf-stable and do not require refrigeration.
    • Do not freeze vitamins, as freezing can kill some of the live probiotics.
