Feeding
Serve 24g (approximately 2 tablespoons) of salad mix per glider daily, typically divided as 1 tablespoon vegetables and 1 tablespoon fruits.
These salad mixes are designed to pair with HPW-style diets (OHPW, GO-HPW, Critter Love® Plus).
Preparation
- Place a 2.5-gallon Rubbermaid freezer-safe container nearby, with the lid removed.
- Chop all fruits and vegetables into manageable pieces (gliders can handle larger pieces).
- Weigh the ingredients using a gram scale and add them to the container.
- Stir thoroughly with a large spoon to mix.
- Cover the container and freeze.
- After 2-3 hours, stir the mixture again to prevent clumping. Repeat this process during feeding time and again before bedtime.
- Once frozen, scoop out the appropriate serving size (24g per glider) as needed.
Notes
Substitutions
- Green beans can replace yellow wax beans
- Kiwi, mango, or melon chunks can replace papaya
- Watercress or arugula can replace kale
- Bok choy can replace cabbage
- Dragon fruit can replace passion fruit or cactus fruit
