    Rainbow Bridge

Rainbow Bridge preserves a deceased sugar glider’s connected history while closing active care and releasing the active glider slot back to the account.

By Glider Tome. Published August 28, 2026.

There is no correct way to grieve an animal.

Some people want to look through every photo immediately.

Some want the record preserved quietly and do not return to it for months or years.

Glider Tome does not tell you what that moment should look like.

It simply gives the history somewhere to stay.

    What Rainbow Bridge Does

When a glider dies, you can move them to Rainbow Bridge.

Their active husbandry record closes, but the history already attached to them remains preserved.

    That may include:

    • weights
    • health observations
    • medications
    • veterinary records
    • diet and colony history
    • photos
    • notes
    • care events

Moving a glider to Rainbow Bridge is not deleting them.

It closes active care while keeping the record that came before it.

    Finish Final Records First

    This part matters.

Once a glider is moved to Rainbow Bridge, you cannot go back and add missing active-care records afterward.

If you want a final weight, veterinary visit, medication, observation, note, photo, or other care information included in their history, enter it first.

You do not have to move the glider immediately after a loss.

    Take the time you need.

    Just remember the order:

    Finish the record first.

    Move to Rainbow Bridge second.

    Their History Remains Available

After the move, you can still return to the preserved record.

You may want to revisit photos.

You may need an old medical detail.

You may recognize a pattern in another glider and want to look back.

Or you may simply want the record because it belonged to them.

    That is enough.

Glider Tome keeps longitudinal records because ordinary pieces of care can become meaningful history over time.

Rainbow Bridge Releases the Active Glider Slot

Glider Tome account capacity is based on active gliders.

A glider moved to Rainbow Bridge no longer uses an active-care slot.

That slot becomes available again while the Rainbow Bridge record remains preserved.

You do not have to delete one glider’s history to make room for another.

    That is intentional.

This Is Not a Grief Checklist

You do not need to write a memorial.

You do not need to document every detail of the final day.

You do not need to revisit the record on anniversaries.

You do not need to make the record sentimental at all.

And if you want to do any or all of those things, that is fine too.

    Rainbow Bridge preserves the history.

What meaning you give that preservation is yours.

    One Last Thing

A Glider Tome record may contain years of very ordinary things.

    Weights.

    Meals.

    Vet visits.

    Photos.

    Notes.

    Questions.

Tiny observations entered because you were caring for the glider in front of you that day.

Together, those ordinary records became their history.

When active care ends, that history does not have to disappear.
